Atheist’s Argument

Out on a Tuesday night
Watching people worship the God of the Israelites, the God who punished Israelites for 40 yrs and bribed them with manna and quails to forget.
The same God who sent the Satan in the image of Snake to give the woman a rotten apple— the apple that ejected human race from luxuries of Eden.
The same God who destroyed those in Sodom and Gomorrah because they chose a YOLO lifestyle and melted Lot’s wife simply because she couldn’t control her reflexes
The same one who forced Jonah to go to Nineveh without even considering his approval and then planted a big fish to eat him half-half and leave vital parts heart, elbow, lungs and testicles …just imagine being alive in the fish’s intestines for days…ouch!
The same one who brought havoc on Job for no good reason—yet Job served him with all he had…I’m telling you about the same God who murdered the pharaohs, slaughtering innocent children, and women
I tell you, they had forgiven him…ooh what a good thing to be the lord—you’re the grand puppeteer.

Mending your Sky

The sky is blue
And beautiful to view
Every time I look at the sky I wonder if it can be created anew
Every time my eyes stretch beyond the horizon and peel through patches of white clouds into the depth of the blue sky, I wonder what it must have taken the creator to mold something so perfect and I am tempted to raise my hand and leave my signature on the blue canvas , it’s so beautiful

An epitome of serenity
An epithet of longevity
And a testament of God’s divine love for humanity
But the sky is not always as peaceful as it seems to be
Sometimes it gets cloudy; dark clouds parading the sky like rebel angels spelling destruction to all that lay below
Sometimes it splits open sending thunder striking beings sipping life out of them and it laughs as we blame the one on the throne for its atrocities

Whenever I marvel at the carefree nature of the sky the youth comes to mind
Because just like the sky, youth is a multifaceted phenomenon
Youth is beauty; it’s devoid of the wrinkles of the old
Youth is Strength; it shoulders the weight of the society
Youth is vigor; it’s the adrenaline that flies the society
Youth is hope; it holds the key to granaries of prosperity

Who have the strength to walk on the rugged terrains spreading the gospel?
Who have the numbers to stir a socio-political revolution?
Who have the voices to speak change?
The youth……(pause)
It’s only the youth who have the power to rebuild and restore the crumbled pillars of the society
But sometimes it pains my heart to see what the youth have become
We’re chained to depression and anxiety we’ve lost our calm
Isn’t it a bitter irony that our tongues have the power to speak life but we have become dry bones in the valley awaiting the return of Ezekiel?
Swimming in pools of alcohol
Our bodies no longer God’s home
But instruments of self-indulgence
Seeking pleasure like it’s the sole reason for our existence
As chastity lay slain in the depths of our hearts

We no longer hunger for the life giving word
But lost in pursuit of vanities of this world
Forgetting that whatever happened in Sodom,
could happen here if we make this place our home

Just like a lone barrel tossed in the Nile
The youth rummages through sin with a smile
We have veered off the track
Tearing every fabric of the society apart

When goals become long overdue
We try different avenues
Dropping pens for guns,
Getting loose on pants
But in all these you have a price to pay
Needless to say
A price you won’t have to pay,
If only you would submit to Jesus
He who fed the hungry and healed lepers
Won’t he save your neck from life’s scissors?

And he calls on all who are heavy laden
With addictions and life’s burden
Those whose backs break at the weight of sin
Those whose names are akin to guilt
He says forget all the stress
And come to me I’ll give you rest

So change your direction
Step on the clutch
Change your life’s gear and come to church
For it takes submission to Christ
To mend your shredded sky

Bits of heaven

I was told heaven is far beyond the sun

And only righteous people can find rest there

That Jesus went longtime ago to build mansions for his righteous sons

I’d like to be in this place but with my sins, my face he’ll never stare

Whoever has a cupful of righteousness, would you mind to share?

****

Bits of heaven

I heard that heaven is the best of place

The utmost accolade for those steadfast in faith

The children of God who never put him to shame

Those whose lives were governed by mercy and grace

****

In heaven there is no sickness

In heaven there is no poverty

In heaven there is no wickedness

In heaven there is no jealousy

In heaven there is no loneliness

As there are always Angels keeping you company

It is a wonderful place where there’s no starvation

Everybody is treated equally

No whites, No blacks, no rich men, no poor men, no ghettoization

****

It is a place of plenty

A land upon which had never sojourned scarcity

It is better than Canaan; a land flowing of milk and honey

But it isn’t a place for all and sundry

****

Will you make it to this place?

I read that just a handful will reach heaven!

I have a plan, what if we brought bits of heaven on earth?

Good Idea, we can have our own earthly paradise!

It can never substitute heaven

But it can make earth a place of travels

And not an abyss of travails

****

To begin with, let’s kill greed

And keep only what we need

Let’s begin to see faces

And not races

****

You don’t have to ask questions before you share

Just give and show you care

Let’s dump all earthly weapons

And use the most disarming weapon of all seasons

Show it to your husband,

Show it to your neighbor,

Show it to starving children

Spread it to those struggling with life

For it can heal the deepest of wounds

This life bites but with this weapon, the pain can never be felt

With this weapon you can:

Leap Over Violent Expeditions in this life.

Show love, share love, spread love

And let’s bring bits of heaven on Earth

What’s more, whatever happens on earth happens in heaven

If we shared love on earth, Then God will be obliged to share more with us

Isn’t This Hypocrisy?

Having to grow in country like Kenya where what you hear is the exact opposite of the reality can be the most disgusting experience one can ever have in life.

Many a times the mention of the word – hypocrisy brings to mind religious figures we have, no doubt religion has always attracted undue criticism from individuals who always view religious leaders with high expectations ,some are even expected to be the Christ himself, wasn’t Christ rejected due to the unfulfilled human expectations? Must God always fulfill our needs to be God?

Needless to mention the height of hypocrisy has gone beyond the religious borders and one has to look at the game in the political arena to certify this. Speak of jackals in a sheep’s cloak.

The teachers’ strike just unmasked the “do as we say” lot.
